Welcome everyone!

Hello everyone (to the 3 persons reading this haha)!

So first of all, my name is Montserrat Castillo and I'm a Mexican passionate home baker;

I wanted to start this blog to share with anyone interested the stories of how I got to what I believe are the perfect recipes.

This blog is a project I wanted to start a long time ago but I was always too afraid to do it . And I know what you are thinking "why? If it's really easy and fun." Well, let me tell you my story so you can understand.

I am a petroleum engineer (kind of) just graduated and even though it's nice career and I'm currently working in the industry, let me tell you a little secret... I LOVE BAKING.

I am in that point in life when you are supposed to define what you want to do as a career and I am 100% sure I want to be a professional baker.

But for know well, I am a 70% engineer and a 30% home baker cause I only get to bake and sell on the weekends.

So starting this project was kind of difficult for me because I feel this is my way to be honest with myself about what I want to do for a living but let's not overanalyze the situation. Let's enjoy this blog and all the funny, frustrating, and exciting stories of how I got to my favorites recipes.

I don't know about you but baking for me it's a way of liberating myself, expand my ideas, and continue to test myself but...

If you and I have anything in common, you are passionate, over-analitic, anxious, and still,never willing to give up.

Those characteristics were key to me to find the just PERFECT recipe for macaroons

But why I am telling you this? Well as a home baker those little and delicious cookies have been a challenge. They had made me cry and scream more than my boyfriend ever has done haha. For me, it's amazing to think that a few years ago when I first attempted to prepare macaroons everything that could go wrong did. For a lot of time they defeated me to the point of not wanting to try anymore. That is until a few months ago, when I tried different types of methods and recipes. That's why I decided that it would be my first recipe on this blog.

I do have to say that not everything is perfect being so anxious and over critical have resulted in me making a lot of mistakes, making me feel like I don't want to bake anymore. Oh and yes, I am kind of dramatic to haha.

Anyway, to end this welcome post I just want to tell you that if you are in a similar situation as me don't worry!

We will figure it out together, you don't have to figure it out now. Let's just let life be and see where it take us.
